My department has researched new manuals to implement in our recruit program. We currently use the IFSTA Essentials 6 manuals. What we found in these books are detailed chapters written by subject matter experts with the knowledge of true streetsmart firefighting. What we have found is an invaluable tool to teach the next generation of firefighters. We will be able to produce smarter firefighters that will build a tactically stronger deparment.
